H.R. 1364- Busts Federal Unions!

IMPORTANT: This information should not be downloaded using government equipment, read during duty time or sent to others using government equipment, because it suggests action to be taken in support or against legislation. Do not use your government email address or government phone in contacting your lawmakers.

A few hours ago, we emailed all of you about the worst union-bashing, pension-stealing bill we’ve seen yet: H.R. 1364, the Government-wide Anti-Union Representation Bill.

Right now, the bill is moving through the House’s Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. We need to stop this bill NOW.

Here’s why the bill is so dangerous: H.R. 1364 would eliminate the use of official time, by making it far too difficult for managers and federal employees to successfully work together to address mission-related challenges. It would take away AFGE’s ability to defend employees who are wrongfully fired, disciplined, harassed or retaliated against. And it would steal the pension of any government worker who goes over a limited amount of official time to protect a fellow union member.

Here’s what we need you to do: we need you and your colleagues to call through the list of lawmakers below and tell them to vote NO on H.R. 1364.

Use this script and call EVERY LAWMAKER on the list below:

“Hello, my name is _____, and I’m a member of the American Federation of Government Employees from [City, State] . Please vote NO on H.R. 1364. This bill does nothing to improve government. It is an attack on my rights at work and my ability to provide for my family. Thank you.”
